Scott Land & Lease at Solar West Conference May 9-11

Scott Land & Lease is participating at the leading conference for solar policy and market trends in Western Canada.


The Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA)’s annual western region conference, Solar West, will take place at the Westin Edmonton from May 9th to 11th with more than 400 attendees expected from solar energy developers, engineering and construction, and professional services. With the role and potential of solar energy in Western Canada rapidly moving into the mainstream, the conference will focus on the opportunities and challenges in the renewable energy market.

Alberta, BC Power 270 Percent Increase in Q1 Crown Land spending

It’s been a tough couple of years for Crown land spending in Western Canada, but the first quarter of 2017 was positive with producers spending $132.74 million, up from $35.52 million during the January-March period of 2016.

Industry tied up 320,738 hectares at an average of $413.87. For the same three-month period of 2016, 275,867 hectares were acquired at an average of $128.74.

Scott Land the Top Crown Buyer in Q1

Scott Land & Lease Ltd. was the top buyer of Crown land in the first quarter  of 2017, spending $78.67 million, with $32.7 million doled out for acreage in Alberta, and $45.29 million in B.C.

The broker acquired 112,682 hectares for the three-month period on behalf of its clients at an average price of $698.16 per hectare. Scott Land picked up 87,867 hectares in Alberta and 23,326 hectares in B.C.
